State of the Union

I haven’t posted an update in a while – with good reason.  I’m busy putting the finishing touches on the game, but there aren’t many flashy things to show.  It’s just a process of gradual improvement, working on things like tutorials and user interface.  The testing is going quite well and I’m pleased by people’s response.  I still need to balance the difficulty a bit, but I think that the core of the game is fun.

My plan right now is to release the game on Feb 16 for PC and Feb 23 for Mac.  As I get closer to the release date, I’ll have more material to show off, like videos and screenshots.

I don’t want to wait nearly a month for it. At least I won’t be wondering when its coming out. Also it might be a good idea to build a chunk of code that will be able to make all of your games mac compatible.

If you dislike the idea of waiting until February, consider that this game has taken up 9 months of my life. I probably want to see it released a tiny bit more than you do. As the saying goes, “A game is only late once, but it sucks forever.”

As far as Mac ports go, you’re right. I do them on an ad-hoc basis, which is why I don’t have a simultaneous release. One problem is that I have to move it between development environments, so things will never be as smooth as I like. Still, they could be a whole lot better.

Keep up the good work man. Have fun, and we’ll enjoy the anticipation. Who are we to make any demands anyway?

I’m just excited to see what you’ve put so much effort into!

ooo! I was thinking of a “weapon”. A device you can deploy (resembling a grenade) that sends out a high pitch sound wave or something – that annoys the zombies enough to stay away from it… And so it can give you time to get away… or take them out if they are overwhelming.
    Take it or leave it.

    Cheers!

Ok, I shouldn’t of complained. Looks like it will be awesome.
